30-Min Southwestern Cheesy Stuffed Burgers



This Southwestern Cheesy Stuffed Burger is full of flavor and great for a quick and filling meal. You're sure to enjoy the taste of spicy jalapenos, melted cheese, and salty beef together!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeno optional
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, and other burger toppings as desired

Instructions:

In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, diced onion, diced bell pepper, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapeno, breadcrumbs, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined

Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a thin patty

Place a slice of pepper jack cheese on 4 of the patties, leaving a small border around the edges

Top each cheese-topped patty with one of the remaining patties, pressing the edges to seal and form a stuffed burger

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat

Cook the stuffed burgers for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach desired doneness

Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or skillet for 1-2 minutes, until lightly browned

Assemble the burgers by placing each stuffed patty on a toasted bun, and adding lettuce, tomato, and other desired toppings

Serve hot and enjoy!
