Cream Cheese Filled Chocolate Chip Muffins



These delicious muffins have the perfect amount of chocolate chips and creamy cheesecake filling. They're a great treat for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a muffin tin with paper liners

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and egg

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined

Fold in the chocolate chips

In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth

Fill each muffin cup halfway with the chocolate chip muffin batter

Add a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture to each cup

Top each muffin with more chocolate chip batter, covering the cream cheese filling

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the muffins comes out clean

Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely
